Hello World

This is a blog about navigating the world when the love of your life gets diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

In March 2026, our little world fell apart.

I had left my partner in my house to score a game of indoor cricket. By the next time I saw him, he was in the midsts of what I initially assumed was a mental health crisis.

But the team at A&E had worse news for us. They had found a ‘mass’ on his brain.

Frustratingly, it took 10 more weeks for them to conclude the worst. Grade 4 Glioblastoma. An aggressive brain cancer with an average survival time of 12 – 15 months. He is 39 years old, and doesn’t yet have a single grey hair.

Now we’re on this rollercoaster with no brakes and no way to get off the ride.

My time is split between caring for him, managing medical appointments, doing the kind of life admin that usually happens long past retirement age, and trying to keep everyone’s spirits up.

I feel very small, and very lost, and very quiet.

So I thought I’d find a place to write all the things I can’t say out-loud. A means to scream into the void without anyone offering me tissues or asking how they can help. A tiny space where my words don’t have to run through a sensitivity filter.

Because this fucking sucks.
